December 6, 2020, in Lincoln, Massachusetts. She was 37. The cause of death was cancer. Marina was born in 1983, in Moscow, Russia, in what was then the Soviet Union, to Alexander and Diana Rakhkin.
Marina emigrated to the United States with her family in March of
1991 as Jewish religious refugees. She spent the remainder of her childhood in Akron, Ohio and
attended The Lippman School and Copley High School. She moved to Massachusetts in 2001
and graduated from Boston University. She worked for several years in technology as a project
manager. She married Benjamin Ginsburg in Newport, Rhode Island on June 26, 2016 and lived
with him and her puppy Laika in Newton, MA.
To everyone who knew her, Marina was a loving person who believed in kindness, living life to
the fullest, and working hard to achieve her goals. Her smile could brighten up a room and her
caring and honest personality never failed to charm and impress. To her husband, she was a
beacon of hope and happiness and a wonderfully beautiful person. She embodied grace,
modesty, caring, diligence, and optimism.
Marina is survived by her husband of four years, Benjamin Ginsburg; her parents, Alexander
Rakhkin and Diana (Shmukler) Rakhkin; her sister and brother-in-law, Yana Rakhkin and Jai
Grieve; her nephews, Maxwell and Alfie Grieve; and many friends and extended family
members who we know she loved with all her heart.
Due to current health restrictions, graveside services will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marina's honor to the Marina Rakhkin Legacy Fund.
