Marjorie Rose Roberts (Isenberg) of Palm Beach, formerly of West Newton, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Margee, the daughter of the late C. Louis and Esther Morrison Isenberg, was born in 1927. Her birth was soon followed by her late brother, Stanley “Pat” Isenberg, a feisty, yet much adored comrade. Her childhood and teen years were filled with much merriment. At 21 years old, she met and married Myron “Mike” C. Roberts in 1948 and enjoyed a full and happy life with him, until his death in April 1989. Margee raised their two daughters, Wendy Sue and the late Dale Anne, with the same bon vivant lifestyle as she maintained. After Mike passed away, she again was swept off her feet by Mortimer J. Goodstein. They shared many happy years together in New York City and Palm Beach. Margee’s role was just that…she was an excellent wife and a wonderful mother. There wasn’t a day she didn’t worry about Dale and Wendy. Her other greatest passion was shopping. She was heralded as “the best dressed” wherever she went. Shop owners on Worth Ave, Madison Ave, and in Paris loved to see her visit. Probably, the best role she played was a Grandmother or “Nans/Nana” to Andrew Dean Ludwig, Steven Eliot Ludwig, and Tyler Gregory Lockard. Two Great-Grandchildren, Max Cooper and Mia Haley Ludwig, were recently added to the pack. There was no prouder moment then when she was able to visit them in California after their respective births. Margee had a close relationship with Pat’s surviving wife, Janet and their children. While living in Palm Beach, Margee and Mike were one of the original owners at the Biltmore, a beautiful historical condominium. She enjoyed a marvelous community of friends and was considered the Grand-Dame of the building. Even in her difficult final years, she always smiled and greeted everyone with affection. In her final year, she spent countless hours just looking out over the water. Even though Margee endured nearly 15 years of health problems, she met each challenge with quiet enthusiasm. Doctors were amazed with her determination to live and her positive demeanor. Unfortunately, a stroke two weeks ago was too much for her to endure.
Graveside services will be held at Crawford Street Memorial Park, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury on Friday, December 26 at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Margee will be greatly missed by her friends and family!
