I am so sorry for your loss.  I was a student at Baker School in the '90's, and I have never forgotten Mrs. Segal's love, warmth, comfort, and humor.  I hope you can be comforted knowing that she will be remembered fondly by so many students.

Dear Jenny and Rebecca,
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother.  You may not no this but one year in preschool the Santa did not show up.  I was going to pass on the event but your mother was so disappointed for the children that she dressed up as Santa!!! She (and the two of you) were always a joy to have at the school.  Jude and I are still at the Nursery School and wish you the best.

A very long time ago, Marjorie and I were best friends. We spent many a night in the Spiegel kitchen 'hatching plans'.  My mother grew up in Marjorie's side of the two family house on Janet Street. My thoughts and memories are with you all.

Jenny and Rebecca, so sorry to hear about your Mom, she was always such a special person.  It has been years since we communicated, since I moved to Nevada, but I have such wonderful memories of her at Eliot Playground with both of you. So sad to hear of your Mom's passing, Jenny and Rebecca.We spent some time in the 1980's with the Epsteins and your parents and knew your Mom to be a lovely woman. I am so sorry for your loss . . .

Jennifer and Rebecca--I am so sorry for your loss. I have known your mother since 6th grade; we kept in touch occasionally in recent years and as you might expect, we talked family and politics. I havent seen either of you since Becca was in a highchair but Marjorie kept me up to date on your lives and exploits.  She was very proud of both of you and the grandchildren. She was a good friend, caring, smart, and funny.  She has left us too soon. I will keep her in my prayers.

Marji's office at Baker School was another version of her front porch in Kingston and on Ackers Ave.  Her door was always open, and anyone could come in and talk to her --- parents, teachers, students.  She always gave her full and committed attention and wise advice.  She was an anchor at Baker School during her years there as a guidance counselor.  She was an unforgettable personality, and she will be missed by all of us who worked with her.

Margie was one of the nicest neighbors in the Heath neighborhood. She will be deeply missed by all. Our  condolences to her daughters, sister, grandchildren, and extended family. Peace be with you all.

Devastated to learn of Marjie's passing . . My daughter and grandaughter live right across the street; I lived there the prior 2 summers taking care of my grandaughter. Nilou and I loved visiting with Marjie and her 2 little dogs! Seeing Marjie made our day better! I already feel the void this summer when I return! Jennifer, Nilou and I met you last summer when you and your beautiful family visited Marjie! RIP, my sweet friend!

Marjie was an amazing woman.  We had the honor and pleasure of knowing her when she worked at Baker School. She had a special gift she shared unconditionally with all.  

I especially loved the stories she was so proud to share about her amazing daughters.

I am so deeply saddened by this tragic loss to you, her children and the entire family.  Marjorie was far too young and with far too much to live for to be taken at this time.  Unfortunately, our family, as well as Norton's have experienced the loss of loved ones before their time in the past.  There never seems to be an answer to our, "why?"!  We go on and endure because we must, but not without the pain that accompanies our shock, our anger and our feelings of helplessness.  We are left with memories and I hope you all are able, as time goes by, to cherish those.  
May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.  May HER memory serve as a Blessing and an inspiration to all whose lives she has touched.

Marjie was a great friend to us and to so many in our little neighborhood.  I have a wealth of memories from my childhood, but we did not become close until I was grown.  I'll always remember sitting on our front porch giving out candy on Halloween, seeing Marjie talk to so many of her students and parents.  She was a well-loved teacher, a devoted mom, and a good friend.

Marjie was a champion for children. First for her own, Jenni and Becca, and second for all those kids she cared for at Baker School.  It is not an exaggeration to say she saved kids' lives.  Watching her calm a crying child or reassure a nervous parent made you realize they were in great hands.  We will miss your common sense approach, warm smile and generous spirit.

Aww, I have fond memories of Margie from my summers at Camp Wingate Kirkland. So sorry to hear about this, Becca and Jennie. My dad died suddenly in '95 and I can relate to losing a parent. Hugs!

Although I haven't seen Margie in over 45 years I have wonderful memories of our friendship from 6th grade through high school. So smart, witty and so much fun. My sincere condolences to her family.
