

Marvin A. Collier, age 92 of Boston and Ogunquit, ME, peacefully at home on Thursday, April 27, 2017. For 58 years the beloved husband of Ann Kane Collier. Devoted father of Samuel Collier, Jonathan Collier & his wife Laurie Grotstein, Charles Collier and the late David and Thomas Collier. Loving grandfather of Clara, Rose, Sarah and Ben Collier. Fond uncle of Holliday Kane Rayfield, Jennifer Kane and Joseph Kane. Loving brother of the late Louis Isaac and Katherine D. Kane.
Mr. Collier founded and ran Collier Associates, an owner and operator of skilled nursing homes across Massachusetts from 1970 - 2005. He was 81 at the age of retirement. He was a Trustee of the Dexter School, a board member of the Friends of the Boston Public Garden, and a longtime board member of Congregation Kehillath Israel. Marvin loved attending the Friday afternoon BSO concerts and taking long walks on the Ogunquit Beach. Most of all he cherished his time with his family.
Services at Congregation Kehillath Israel, 384 Harvard Street, Brookline on Sunday, April 30 at 1:00pm. Interment at Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 350 Grove Street, West Roxbury. Memorial observance at his late residence on Sunday 6:00-8:00pm, Monday 3:00-7:00pm and Tuesday 2:00-4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Harvard University, in memory of Marvin A. Collier Class of 1946, Friends of the Boston Public Garden or the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
