

Masha Tsenter (Maiden name Kuperman) was born in August 17th, 1927, in a suburb of Kiev. She was born to Yosef Kuperman and Rivka Kuperman (Bruselovsky). She was the youngest of three siblings, having two older brothers, Iser Kuperman and Gregory Kuperman. Iser was a world-wide champion of checkers for many years.
Following World War II, Masha completed her medical education and received a diploma as a pediatrician from the school of medicine in Kiev. For over 40 years, she served the area of Pichersk in Kiev as a pediatrician. She took care of many children, who came to visit her as they themselves grew up and enrolled their own kids in her medical care. She was known to be a doctor who would get up in the middle of the night for the sake of her patients, she provided care without borders. She knew each of her patients on a first-name basis. She rose to prominence to be known as the "Smiling Doctor".
Even in the US, she was always open to helping those in need.
She married Mark Tsenter to who she was married for almost 50 years and had two daughters, Ella and Irene. Her grandchildren are Larissa and Mark. Larissa's son, her great-grandson, is Teddy. We will forever miss Masha and the caring, talented, loving person that she was.
