

Mel leaves behind his devoted wife of 66 years, Judy Starr, his loving daughter Helaine Greenbaum, her husband Jonathan, and her children Talia and Isaac, his beloved sons Barry Starr and his wife LIsa, and Larry Starr. He was a proud and caring husband, father and friend to many.
Mel was a true mensch- selfless, kind, and generous in spirit. A dedicated electrical engineer, there is nothing he could not fix. He had a lifelong passion for numbers, and approached his work and life with precision and purpose. Beyond his career, Mel was known for his warmth and enthusiasm. He loved cooking and dancing, and he gave freely of his time and heart to his community and to those in need.
Mel was both interested and interesting. always learning, listening and engaging with the world around him. His integrity, humor and compassion touched all who knew him, and his legacy of love and generosity will live on through his family and the many lives he impacted.
May his memory be a blessing. A private service will be held by the family. Contributions in Mel's memory may be made to Congregation Shalom, Chelmsford Ma.
