Merle Frieser

Merle Frieser, age 76, of Salem, MA, died in Salem on October 12, 2022.

Merle is lovingly remembered by her nephews, Andrew Stavisky & his wife Nora Memmott, Steven Stavisky, and Matt Stavisky & his wife Lizamarie Cintron Stavisky; and her great nephews and nieces Alexandra Memmott, Christina Memmott, Devorah Stavisky, William Memmott, Eva Stavisky, Kate Stavisky and Jake Stavisky. She is also lovingly remembered by her cousins Marc Silvey and Elle Silvey-Maslow & her husband John Maslow.

Merle was born and raised in Revere, MA and graduated from Revere High School. She worked for many years as a legal secretary in Boston and then had a second career as a Probation Case Specialist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Salem courthouse. In retirement, Merle had a close-knit group of friends who enjoyed their time together playing mahjong, canasta, and cards, shopping, watching football, and socializing at their weekly supper club. She will be deeply missed.

Private services will be at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Shiva will be held at 1 Carol Way, Salem, in the 1st floor community room on Friday, October 14th from 2pm until 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org, The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, www.dana-farber.org, or to charity of your choice.
