Michael L. Faigen passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 59 years old.
Born on May 20, 1965, in Wayland, Massachusetts, Michael was the beloved son of the late Ivan and Sema Faigen. He grew up in the warm embrace of a close-knit family and community, attending Wayland High School, where his sharp intellect and curiosity began to shine. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Michigan, a language and culture he loved deeply, furthering his studies at the University of Cuernavaca in Mexico. Michael later completed his MBA in Finance at the University of Chicago in 1992, combining his love for language, culture, and business into a remarkable and impactful career.
Michael began his professional journey at McKinsey & Company, where his keen insight and analytical mind earned him great respect. He later took on the role of President and CEO of Stainless Steel Coatings, Inc., a company he proudly led and grew into a successful international business. Under his leadership, the company developed innovative steel coating products that are now used around the world—a testament to his vision, tenacity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Michael was more than his accomplishments. He was a devoted husband, a loving brother, a thoughtful uncle, and a cherished friend to many. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mariola Faigen; his sister, Martha Faigen; his brother, Ronn Faigen, and Ronn’s wife, Kathleen; as well as several nieces and nephews who brought him joy and pride throughout his life.
Michael lived with purpose, integrity, and warmth. He had a generous heart, a quick wit, and an unwavering love for those closest to him. His presence lit up every room, and his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held on May 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, located at 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline, Massachusetts—a date that would have marked his 60th birthday.
