Mikhail Shekhtman, 93, passed away peacefully in Boston on January 10, 2021. He was born on August 03, 1927 in Emilchino (near Kiev) USSR.
In 1951, Mikhail married Faina and was a loving and devoted husband for 62 years. They had two children, Margarita and Igor, as well as four grandchildren, Alexander, Victor, Alan, and Robert. Mikhail was the most loving father to his children and the most loving grandfather to his grandchildren. A decorated veteran, Mikhail will always be remembered for his outstanding service and fight for humanity in WWII. After the war, he graduated with an engineering degree from Lvov Polytechnic Institute and went on to lead multiple well respected engineering divisions.
In 1989, Mikhail immigrated to the United States where he lived and became a treasured member of the Jewish community at Ulin House in Boston.
Mikhail is predeceased by his parents, Aaron and Klara, his sister Anna, and his wife Faina. He is survived by his children, Margarita and Igor, grandchildren Alex, Victor, Alan, and Robert, and brother Myron.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 2:00PM at The Sons of Abraham Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
