MAZOR, Dr. Miriam Bonita Dushman of Brookline, MA passed on Friday, April 4, 2014. Born May 11, 1940 in New York City, Dr. Mazor was the beloved wife of Dr. Baruch HS Mazor, devoted mother to Rachel Mazor of Brooklyn, NY and Raphael Mazor of Orange County, CA. Cherished grandmother of Elijah and Naomi Edmonds, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Isabelle Dushman and sister to the late Daniel Dushman. Dr. Mazor studied at Barnard College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before receiving her medical degree in Psychiatry from Harvard University. She specialized in child and adolescent psychiatry at both her home practice and across the Greater Boston area. In addition to her work, Dr. Mazor was an aspiring writer who loved to travel and sing in the Yiddish Community Chorus. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 6th at 2PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon Street, BROOKLINE. Following services, interment will be held at the Crawford Street Memorial Park, 776 Baker Street, W. Roxbury. Shiva will be held at Dr. Mazor’s late residence with Mincha/Ma’ariv services starting at 6:30pm daily. Additional Shacharit services will be held at the Beth Abraham Synagogue each day of shiva at 7am, 18 Williston Road, Brookline.Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be donated to the Yiddish Book Center, 1021 West St, Amherst, MA 01002
