

Morton Bernard Brown, of Winchester and Ogunquit, ME (formerly of Belmont) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 18, 2014 at the age of 83. A man of great wisdom and loving kindness, Morton was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. For 59 years, Morton was the loving husband and best friend of Miriam "Micki" (Decter) Brown, whom he met on Valentine’s Day 1954. Deeply devoted to his family, Morton was the loving father of Jeffrey Brown and Paula Crawford of Arlington, VA, Aviva (Brown) Warford of Manchester, NH, Michael Brown and Charlotte Mao of Brookline, Terri (Brown) and Gil Preuss of Newton and Av Brown of Cambridge. Morton adored his 11 grandchildren, Sophie, Jack, Leia, Jonah, Spencer, Nicholas, Sidonie, Shoshi, Sarah, Yoni and Maya, and his two great grandchildren, Haylee and Flynn. He was the dear brother of the late Marlene Rubin and brother-in-law of Barry Rubin, David and Carole Decter, and Shelia and the late Thomas Decter. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, the son of the late Sam and Yetta (Blum) Brown, Morton attended Harvard Law School and practiced real estate law with distinction for 50 years with Sherin and Lodgen, serving as managing partner. Funeral services to be held on Monday, January 20th at noon at Beth El Temple Center, 2 Concord Avenue in Belmont, where he was a member for more than 50 years and past president, followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park, 41 Dedham St., Sharon. Memorial observance will be at his late residence on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
