Hoffman, Myrna of Newton, formerly of Wayland. Entered into rest on May 31, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 76. Daughter of Mark and Beatrice (Brooks) Karofsky. Fabulous wife of Donald Hoffman, with whom she shared 56 years. Phenomenal mother to Michael Hoffman and his wife Marie of West Newbury; Karen Hoffman and her husband Neil McKittrick of Needham; Jane Maxwell and her husband Scott of Newton. Loving sister to Kenneth Karofsky and his wife Joan of Raymond, ME. The world’s best Nana to Alison, Carolyn and Mark Hoffman; Kerry, Brian and Robby McKittrick; Jen, Becca and Jay Maxwell. Myrna was a graduate of Beaver College and she received her teaching degree through Curry College. She was employed at Women’s Health Services as a counselor for many years as well as a Special Education Teacher in Sudbury. Myrna was an extraordinary life force, mother, nana and dedicated friend to many. Myrna’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 11am at The Gardens at Elm Bank, 900 Washington Street, Wellesley. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Family and friends are invited to gather immediately following interment at the home of Jane and Scott Maxwell. Shiva will be held on Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm -7pm at the home of Jane and Scott Maxwell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Myrna’s memory to Camp Sunshine, 35 Acadia Road, Casco, ME 04015.
