Nancy Fishman

Nancy Fishman, 86, of Dedham, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Born in Boston on November 8, 1939, to her father, Edward Fishman of Boston, and her mother, Dorothy (Nieitlich) Fishman of New York. Nancy’s younger sister, Leslie Fishman, passed away 14 years ago.

Nancy lived in Roxbury, Randolph, West Roxbury, Hyde Park, Canton, and eventually Dedham.

Nancy began her career as a hairdresser before joining First National Bank of Boston, which changed names several times and is now Bank of America. She worked as a bank teller and customer service representative for many years.

Nancy will always be remembered for being extremely friendly and sociable. She loved talking to people, but more importantly, she loved making people feel welcomed. Nancy wanted her friends, acquaintances, and even strangers to have as great a time as she was having. Her caring and gracious personality was truly radiant.

Nancy never hesitated to speak her mind when she felt someone was not receiving the recognition they deserved, a quality that endeared her to the staff at Traditions and throughout her hospital stays. You could always count on Nancy to have a quick retort when she didn’t like something. She made sure her needs were met while also looking out for the needs of everyone around her.

They broke the mold when Nancy was born, and we all benefited greatly from having the opportunity to know her. She will forever be missed.

A funeral service will be held at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:00 am, immediately followed by the burial held at King Solomon Memorial Park, 2667 Centre Street, West Roxbury.
