

Rachel Soliman Levy, zichronah livracha (z”l), of blessed memory, was born on September 9th, 1929, in Cairo, Egypt. She was the firstborn of her siblings, Ibrahim Levy, Esther El Kodsi z”l, and Alan Levi.
A loving wife to Abraham Levy, z”l, for fifty years, they immigrated to the United States in 1962 and lived in Massachusetts. Mother of Avery Levy and his wife Joan, and Mervat Hefez and her belated husband Matthew. Devoted Grandmother, “Nona”, to her grandchildren, Ron and Vickie, Nathan and Sara, Julie and Leo, Daphne and Yoav, Melanie and Yoni, Valerie and Ishai, Naomi and Matt, and Michael. Rachel was a dedicated Great-Grandmother of 20: Evan, Lily, Norah, Layah, Jade, Vincent, Scarlet, Bridget, Liam, Eylon, Layla, Eden, Lev, Luna, Sara, Lielle, Noa, Aviel, Aleeza, and Nava.
Rachel was and will always remain lovingly in our hearts and will be greatly missed by her family.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 1:30pm at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA. Burial will follow at Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Merv Hefez following the burial on Wednesday until 8pm (minyan at 7pm), continuing Thursday from 11am-2pm and 6:30-8pm (minyan at 7pm), and Friday and Sunday from 11am-3pm.
