Ragna L. V. Andersson Spitzer

Ragna L.V.(Andersson) Spitzer, aged 84 of Brookline, on Thursday, November 20, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Harry Spitzer. Loving mother of Linda & Dr. Paul Powers and Dr. Renee Spitzer & William Wehner. Adored grandmother of Jeremy (Spitzer) Barnhizer and Jacob Spitzer Wehner. Ragna was born in Gothenburg, Sweden to Hildur and Sven Andersson. She played professional Handball and worked for the Swedish Telephone company until she immigrated to the U.S. after WWII and moved to Boston MA where she met the love of her life Harry. She worked for National Research until married. Later she volunteered for 10 years for a student exchange program and was a member of the S. Brookline Garden Club. She loved traveling, skiing, gardening, entertaining, summers on Cape Cod and spending time with her family.

Services at the Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Sunday, November 23, at 12:30pm. Burial will be in the Crawford St. Memorial Park, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Scandinavian Living Center, 206 Waltham St, Newton, MA 02465 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
