Ramon Ray M. Rakoff

Ramon “Ray” Rakoff, of Sarasota, FL formerly of Wayland and Chestnut Hill, on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at age 86. He was the beloved husband of Myra (Mirkin-Schwartz) Rakoff and the late Suzanne (Yusen) Rakoff. Devoted father of Jill & Peter Matusow of Natick and Lauri & Brian Chertok of Beverly. Loving grandfather of Hayley Matusow, and Ben & Zachary Chertok. Dear brother-in-law of Jane Yusen and the late Walter Yusen and cousin of Alfred Goldstein. He will be missed by his extended family including Myra’s children, Chuck Schwartz, Hillary & Ken Silverstein, and their children Sherry & Jeffrey Silverstein. Ray was a long-time partner of Yusen Associates in Woburn. He was also a long time active member of Congregation Mishkan Tefila, Chestnut Hill. The family would like to thank the staff at the Pines of Sarasota, FL for their loving care and especially his nurses Danny & Shelly. Graveside service at Lindwood Memorial Park, 497 North St., Randolph, on Wednesday, June 11, at 11:00am. Memorial observance will follow at the home of Jill & Peter Matusow through 8pm and continue Thursday 1-4pm & 6-8pm, Friday 1-4pm and Sunday 1-4 & 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.
