Rita N Brody

Rita Nan Brody (Ricky) Schwartz, aged 86, of East Falmouth, MA, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025. Born on July 6, 1938, Rita was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, whose life was filled with love for her family, friends, and her cherished dogs.

Rita graduated from Cornell University and went on to establish a successful career as an accomplished Real Estate Broker. Her professional achievements were paralleled by her personal passions, which included knitting and caring for her dogs, activities that brought her immense joy and relaxation.

She was a social butterfly, known for her ability to maintain long-standing friendships and her love for engaging conversations. Rita's kitchen was often filled with the aroma of delicious meals, a testament to her love for cooking and gathering loved ones around the table.

Rita is survived by her loving husband Gershon (Jerry) Brody, their son Mitchell (Mitch) Brody (Julie Kannel), granddaughter Hannah Brody, sister Eileen Prichep (partner, Harvey Beram), nieces Bonnie Leach (Jim) and Deena Prichep (Bengt Halvorson) and grand nephew Spencer Leach and grand nieces Charlotte Leach and Odessa Prichep Halvorson, cousins Lou Woolf (Janice), Carol Berkson, Marlene Wiener and Neil Lichtman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Evelyn Schwartz.

A funeral service will be held to honor Rita's life on Wednesday, January 15th at 1 PM at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/) or to a charity of one's choice in memory of Rita would be appreciated, reflecting her spirit of generosity and community support. Rita's warmth, wisdom, and the joy she brought to every life she touched will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
