Robert S. Grodberg, “Bob,” passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Bob, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was 94 years old at the time of his passing.
At that time, he was living in Newton, Massachusetts, and had been practicing his love of the law for almost 70 years. He graduated from Colby College with a B.A., Boston University School of Law with a JD, and a LLM in Taxation, and he was a senior editor of the Boston University law review.
Bob's love of the law and his commitment to serving clients were central to who he was. He greeted everyone with warmth and kindness and took great satisfaction in helping others. As a volunteer advocate for the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, he worked tirelessly on behalf of those in need and was a lifelong champion of fairness, justice, and equity.
Bob was also passionate about sports. From childhood through his later years, he remained an avid participant and fan. Tennis, in particular, held a special place in his heart, and he excelled both on the court and as a devoted follower of the game. He shared his love of the law and sports with his children, creating lasting memories through these common interests and the time they spent together.
Bob is survived by Dorothy Fenn Grodberg, his loving wife of over 30 years. He is also survived by his children from his former marriage to Ronda Grodberg: Nancy Grodberg, Mark Grodberg and his partner Susan Wanzer, Gail Lederman and her son and Bob’s grandson, Justin Lederman.
He is also survived by his daughter Debbie Fenn and son-in-law Stephan Steisel, his grandchildren Ricky Steisel, Andy Steisel, Samantha Stevens and her husband Ben Stevens, Carly Gordenstein, and great-grandchildren, Ollie and Theo Stevens.
