Roslyn (Waldman) Wennett, age 89, of Dedham, MA formerly of Newton Centre, MA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 3, 2024. Born in Boston, she was the devoted and loving daughter of the late Florence (Zoll) and Michael Waldman. Roslyn was the beloved wife for 60 years of the late Richard W. Wennett. Loving mother of Nancy Rubin, Robert Wennett and his husband Mario Cader-Frech, and Debbie Wennett and her husband Steven Levine. Cherished grandmother of Charles Rubin, Eric Rubin and his wife Brittany, Samantha Rubin Julian and her husband Benjamin, and Jake Levine. Adored great grandmother of Genevieve (Gigi) Rubin. Loving sister of the late Sheila Sacks and sister-in law to the late Aaron Sacks and a loving aunt to their children.
Roz met her husband Richard when she was 16 and they married when she was 19. They loved, respected and supported each other. They truly enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. Roz was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Always telling them again and again how much she loved them. Never would a conversation end without Roz saying “I love you”.
Roz had a heart of gold, always caring for friends, family and colleagues. Her warmth was apparent from her beautiful smile. She always saw the best in everyone and never spoke ill of others.
Roz graciously hosted family and friends for so many large holiday gatherings, effortlessly preparing huge and delicious meals. She made everyone feel welcomed and extended an invitation to all!
Roz graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School for Girls. She did not attend college but in the late 1970’s she decided to follow her sister’s lead and pursue a career in real estate. While working at her first real estate office she met Edna Kranz and with Richard’s blessing and support she went into business with Edna Kranz along with two other partners. Eventually Roz became the sole shareholder of Prudential Edna Kranz Realty Inc. Her office truly became her family. She loved all the people that worked in her office and they loved her. She was always there to support and give them guidance. For over 30 years Roz had a wonderful career as a real estate broker. She was an invaluable resource to her clients and worked tirelessly helping them to sell their homes or to purchase a home. Many of her clients became her friends. She truly loved her job. She retired from real estate in 2018.
Roz enjoyed playing golf, tennis and bridge. After Richard passed, she continued her social life gathering her many friends together for Saturday night dinners at Legal Seafoods and Seasons 52.
The family would like to thank her full-time aide Aminata Francess Ohonba (Amy). Amy took care of Roz with respect and love. They had an incredible bond and became very close friends. Roz loved and trusted Amy and felt safe and comfortable.
