Ruth Banash Kaufman

Ruth Banash Kaufman (age 94) passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 24, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Daniel “Dave” Kaufman and Leonard “Lenny” Banash. Cherished mother of Ellen Banash, Jane Banash Sagerman (Eric) and the late Charles “Chuckie” Banash. Beloved grandmother of James Boneparth, David Boneparth (Marie) and Lia Sagerman (Nick), cherished great grandmother to Lilian and Rose Boneparth. Loving stepmother to Joel Kaufman (Carol), Harvey Kaufman (Ellen), Amy Kaufman, Diane Kaufman (David), Lisa Heyison (Michael) and all of their children and grandchildren.

Ruth “Ruthie” Leavitt grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts and graduated from Brookline High School where she was a proud member of the Clover Club. Always elegant and stylish with a flair for entertaining, Ruth was fashionable whether on a ski slope, boating or traveling the world. She used her expertise in entertaining to set up her own business, becoming one of the first wedding planners in the late 1970’s through 1980’s. Ruth’s warm and charming nature led to many close friendships that she maintained throughout the course of her life.

Burial will be private with a memorial to be held at a future date.
