

Samuel Ozure Kesselman of Newton on Monday, March 27, 2023, at age 22. Samuel is survived by his mother, Alison Schecter; by his father, Stephen Kesselman; by his older brother, Ross; by his younger sister, Rose; by his maternal grandmother, Barbara Schecter; and by his beloved, Irene Partsuf. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather of blessed memory, Martin Schecter; and by his paternal grandparents of blessed memory, Edith and William Kesselman.
Samuel was a 2018 graduate of Newton North High School and a 2022 graduate with distinction of Cornell University’s Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy. He was an exemplary president of the Cornell chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. Sam was fluent in five languages, a great public speaker, and a vibrant intellect. He was working as a government consultant for Ernst & Young, living in Washington, D.C., when he was the victim of a hit and run accident. He fought a valiant 5-month battle to survive traumatic brain injury, but ultimately succumbed to his injury.
Services at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward Street, Newton on Wednesday, March 29 at 11:00am with live-stream viewing available using the following link: www.tinyurl.com/SamuelKesselman. Interment at New Montefiore Cemetery, West Babylon, NY, on Thursday, March 30 at 11:00am.
The family will be sitting shiva at his mother's home on the following dates and times: Thursday, March 30 from 7:30pm-11pm; Friday, March 31 from 12pm-6:30pm; Saturday, April 1 from 8:30pm-10:30pm; Sunday, April 2 from 10am-11am, 2pm-5pm, and 6pm-10pm; Monday, April 3 from 11am-5pm and 6pm-10pm; Tuesday, April 4 from 11am-5pm and 6pm-10pm
The family will be sitting shiva at his father's home on Sunday, April 2 from 12pm-2pm
