Borkum, Sandra (Platten)—Of Masphee, MA and Sarasota, FL. Prior to her death from cancer she was continuously surrounded by her family who loved her very much. She was the beloved wife of Sumner for 59 years, loving mother of Sue & Harry Goldman, Ellen & Larry Scult, Michael & Arlene Borkum, and devoted grandmother of Dan, Amy, Matthew, Corey, Brittany & Marissa, sister of Arlene Baxter and the late Sumner Platten. Sandra was a special education teacher and worked in the Newton Public Schools for over 30 years. Services will be at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Ellen & Larry Scult following interment until 5PM and continuing from 7-9PM.
