Sandra "Sandy" (Lessoff) King, 92, of Needham, formerly of Natick and Framingham, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026.
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Sandy met Robert (Bob) King, whom she married in 1953. They shared 67 years of marriage before Robert's passing in 2020 and raised their family in Framingham.
After attending The City College of New York, Sandy devoted herself to raising her three children while volunteering in her community. She later returned to school, earning a degree in Early Childhood Education from Framingham State College, and enjoyed a long career as an early childhood educator, enriching the lives of countless young children.
Sandy embraced life with enthusiasm. Whether playing tennis, golf, bridge, or mahjong, she loved being with family and friends and was always ready for fun. Above all, she was the heart of her family—a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose strength, kindness, and steady support shaped generations.
Sandy was predeceased by her husband, Bob. She is survived by her children, Michael King and his wife, Betsy; Mitchell King and his wife, Anna; and Rhonda Spector and her husband, Ben; her grandchildren, Becca (Lindsay), Molly (Dhruv), Lucas (Amanda), Daniel (Natasha), David (Emily), Seth (Zoe), Alana, Maya, and Emma (Nick); and her great-grandchildren, Simon, Lev, Isla, Margo, and Lilah.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
A private burial was held on July 13 at Beit Olam Cemetery in Wayland, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy's memory may be made to Susan G. Komen at www.komen.org
