Dear Solly, Libby & Simon,
Sarah and I, Karen Burns White, Olga & Petra shared admin responsibilities when Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center  was under the leadership of Ed Benz & David Livingston in 2006.  Our offices were back-to-back and Sarah shared so many tales of family, always beaming with pride & humor.  I was the Director of Strategy & Communication … and partnered closely with Sarah on many initiatives.  She was wildly competent, deeply trusted, and ever the voice of reason … especially key during grant renewals!  Last I saw Sarah was at Lifetime Chestnut Hill … where she was redoubling efforts on fitness during a reprieve from chemo … a year or so ago.  So sorry to learn from Olga yesterday of her passing.  I want to offer my condolences and join you in the celebration of her life!🎉💃🙏🏻❤️

Sarah was that rare and wonderful kind of colleague who quickly became a true friend. For more than five years, she was Executive Director of our complex research network spanning eight major institutions. Sarah led with brilliance, warmth, remarkable competence, and exceptional skill at navigating every challenge, no matter how complex. She understood people, processes, and regulations, and could handle any situation or personality with grace and ease—and we certainly had our share of personalities. Her radiant smile, infectious laugh, and genuine appreciation for humor made each day brighter. I’ll always cherish the warmth, kindness, and friendship she brought into our lives.

Dear Solly, Simon and Elizabeth
I was deeply saddened to hear from my sister Kristine and Wulf  about your loss. We just met for short moments in Pasadena,  but later on I have heard much about Sarah and I understand what a wonderful warm hearted person she was. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during these difficult days. May all the memories in your hearts provide some comfort and peace in the time to come.

Sarah was one of the kindest and most insightful individual I have ever known. She valued her family and friends. She maximized life to the fullest. Even during her cancer treatments she made sure to enjoy her time with Solly (the love of her life and partner in crime) on any adventure 007 would be envious of. I will miss her immensely.

We have spent some of the best times of our lives together and there are so many memories of our adventures that still make us smile and laugh every time.  
All the windsurfing trips, sometimes with too much wind or with too little…  and our camping trips, some so hot, in the Mohave desert, that took our breath away cooking under the tarp …, and some so cold where we woke up to snow with not enough sleeping bags and melted our shoes sitting too close to the fire to stay warm.  You were always laughing, and you would not be bothered by any hiccups.  We truly cherish the fun times in Pasadena when we were young enough that one beer too many did not throw us off for days, like playing pool at Nardy’s on Thanksgiving Eve with magically refilling pitchers.  Or when you borrowed our Indian cookbook to make us dinner, and the Chicken Tandoori smelled and looked so amazing we were in awe over your cooking talents – until you broke down and admitted that it was take-out.  
We shared the moments when we all got married, when our kids were born.  You moved in with us for a while and stored all your belongings in our garage while you traveled around the world.  Sarah, you brought back a beautiful black pearl necklace as a thank you for me, and I wear it often, it reminds me of you, and now, it will mean even more to me.  
But our most favorite memory of you, Sarah, is your infectious laughter and smile, your wits, your incredible sense of humor, your outgoing life-is-fun attitude, always ready to go onto another adventure, your honesty, sincerity and most of all your friendship.  
Sarah, you will be missed so much.  We were so lucky that you were a part of our life and sharing some of the best times and moments.  Life is so precious and every moment with you was a gift.  Until we meet again, we can only hang on to our memories and cherish them, but your place in our hearts will be there forever.
