Shirley Gelber, age 87, a resident of Brookline, MA entered eternal rest on Thursday July 10, 2024.
Shirley was born in Bucharest, Romania on August 1, 1936. She graduated from the School of Health Science in Bucharest in 1954. Shirley lived in Israel for 10 years and served in the Israeli Army. She came to the United States in 1965. She worked at Mass Eye and Ear as a nurse, as well as at Mount Auburn Hospital as a cardiac nurse for thirty-four years.
For 35 years, she was the beloved partner of the late Steven Block, formerly of Brookline. Shirley enjoyed being a nurse, reading, traveling, and helping others.
Services will be at the Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA on Wednesday July 17, 2024, at 11:00am.
