OBITUARY

Shirley Feldberg Levy

IN THE CARE OF

Levine Chapels

Shirley Feldberg Levy died peacefully at her home on January 12, 2022 101 days after her 100th Birthday. Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years Milton Lincoln Levy. She is survived by her two sons, John and his wife Gail Rothenberg, and Steven and his wife Sarah Salter Levy. She was a loving Nana to Sara (Alex Margulis), Scott (Caroline Levy), Todd (Sarah Sletzinger) and Colin (Jared Boesse). Adored Great Nana to Nathan, Emma, Dahlia, Lily and Alex. She was predeceased by her sister and brother in law, Leona and David Karp. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Sumner and Esther Feldberg. She leaves many cherished nieces and nephews.

Shirley was born in Chelsea, MA and raised there by her parents Anna and Morris Feldberg. She graduated from Girls Latin School, Smith College, Phi Beta Kappa, and earned a Masters in Psychiatric Social Work from Simmons College.

Shirley met and married Milton, who grew up in Brookline, while she was living with her parents in Newton. Their first home together was in Cambridge.

As Shirley raised her sons in Newton and Weston, she enjoyed entertaining her friends over bridge and dinner. She was an avid golfer at Belmont Country Club and continued to play in Key Largo and Palm Beach, Florida.

Shirley Levy personified grace, style and charm. Her intellectual curiosity was limitless and she participated in continuing education through Smith College, The Society of the Four Arts, and Speakers Series. She was a student of literature, politics, health and fashion. As a member of the Palm Beach Bridge team Shirley accumulated an impressive number of Masters points and relished her bridge classes.

Shirley was a loyal and generous friend to many. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren with whom she learned about the latest technologies, legal theories, business opportunities and educational stratagems. She loved FaceTiming with her 5 great grandchildren remarking as they grew and learned new skills.

As a devoted philanthropist Shirley donated to the arts, culture, health care and social causes. Her legacy continues through the generosity of her family foundation.

The Levy family will always remember her profound compassion, her fascination with people, and the twinkle in her eye. We will forever miss her and she and her husband Milton will live on in our hearts and memories.
