Stanley H. Sydney

Stanley H. Sydney, 80, of Brookline on Sunday, January 22, 2012. He is lovingly remembered for his commitment to family, community and all mankind. For 55 years, he was the beloved and devoted husband of Sheila (Goldner). Son of the late Ada (Shlager) & Jacob Theodore Sydney of Providence, RI. Devoted father of Michael Sydney & his wife Joy of Manchester, NH, Roberta Sydney of Boston, David Sydney & his wife Daphne of Dallas, TX, Judith Sydney & her wife Aviva Sapers of Newton, MA and Elana Sydney of New York, NY. Loving brother of Joyce (Sydney) Rifkind & her husband Aaron Rifkind of Toronto, Ontario, the late Allan Sydney & his surviving wife Sydelle of Costa Rica and the late Irwin Sydney and the late Albert Sydney. Also survived by his grandchildren Melissa Sydney & her husband Adam Marshak, Joshua Sydney & his wife Beth, Rachel Lebovich & her husband Michael, Stephanie Elias, Caroline Sydney, William Sydney, Ari Sapers-Sydney, and Jonah Sapers-Sydney. Proud Great Grandfather of Leah Sydney. Class of 1952, Mr. Sydney received his BS and MS in Civil Engineering from MIT. Services will be held at Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Monday, January 23 at 11am, followed by internment in Rhode Island. Shiva at his late residence, 1443 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA.
