Sylvia Berman Miller, 93, died April 11, 2013, at NewBridge on the Charles, Dedham. Born and raised in the Bronx, resided in Fort Lee, NJ. After death of her husband, Sidney (1988), relocated to Cambridge, then Brookline, then Dedham. Survived by son, Andrew Miller; daughter, Susan Miller (Maurice Martin); grandchildren Eleanor and Max Martin; and nieces and nephews. Active in the women’s movement in NYC and NJ beginning in the late 1960s. Kind, thoughtful, a sympathetic and attentive listener, blessed with a sterling sense of humor. Hard life, good soul, beloved by many. Funeral at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline, Sunday, April 14 at 11 a.m. Burial at Independent Workmen’s Circle Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Reception and shiva immediately following at the home of Susan and Maury, until 8:00 p.m. Shiva in New York City, April 15-17.
