Thelma “Dolly Baker” Botelho, , 92 of Brookline, on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Beloved mother of Jan Gendron, Shira Marianne Gendron and Daniel Gendron. Loving grandmother of J.T, Lisa, Maria, Joseph, Jason and Simone. Loving great grandmother of Sean, John, Elias, Gabriel & Sela and Jayden & Ditta. Dear sister of Roberta Rubens (Bobbi Baker) and the late Arnold Rubens. Born Thelma Rubens on February 7, 1922 in New York City, NY she was the daughter of the late Mark and Marian Rubens. She was a renown jazz singer in New York City and Tokyo, Japan. Together with her sister Bobbi Baker they performed in the 1950’s and 2004-2012 in Brookline, MA as the Baker sisters. She also leaves her long time manager and best friend Ruth Shapiro. Services will be private. Shiva will be at her late residence. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
