Dr. William Silverstein, age 101 years, of Newton, formerly of Johnstown, PA on Monday, August 4, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Betty (Friedman). For the past 14 years, he was the cherished companion of Barbara Lincoln of Newton. Loving father of Evan Silverstein & Jane Warren of PA, Deborah R. Silverstein & James Neely of Cambridge and Barbara L. Silverstein & Richard Schwartz of Sharon. Adored grandfather of Craig Silverstein, Sonia & Marah Laurie, Michael Solenne, Zoe & Leo Schwartz and great grandfather of Jordan. Dear brother of the late Morris & Jack Silverstein and Sarah Leonard, Esther Silverman and Lillian Dain. Former father-in-law of Jeff Laurie and the late Nannette Silverstein. Funeral arrangements are private. Memorial observance at the home of Deborah & James on Friday, Aug. 8 and Saturday, Aug. 9 from 4-8pm each day and continuing at the home of Barbara & Richard on Thursday, Aug. 14 and Friday, Aug. 15 from 4-8 each day.
