Mr. Yefim Gimelberg entered into rest October 28, 2012 in his 92nd year. He was the beloved husband of Raya Notkina.
Born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1921, he was the son of the late Mark and Sonia (Kaplan) Gimelberg. He served in the Soviet Red Army from 1939 until 1945 and was a Staff Sergeant. He was a decorated soldier and recieved two medals for bravery, Order of Red Banner, and medals for the taking of Kenigsberg, Berlin and for Victory of Moscow. He was an educated man, attending college from 1946 until 1952 and upon completion, worked for many years as a Physician.
Mr. Gimelberg was the devoted father of Jane Ostrovsky and Alexander Gimelberg. He is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Graveside funeral service will take place on Thursday November 1, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Ostro Marshoe Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
