Born on July 26, 1941, in the Bronx, Anna was the daughter of Baggio DeRosa and Jenny Pagano, both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her siblings Mary, Jerry, Millie, Helen, James, and Nancy, all of whom she loved dearly.
Anna is survived by her four children: Domenick (Barbara), Mina, Maria (Monte), and AnnaMaria (Anthony); her eight grandchildren: Nikolas, Lauren (TX), Alexis, Allie, Anthony, Candice, Emily, and Lauren; and her beloved grand pup, Didi. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including Maryann and Tony, to name only a few; her great nieces and great nephews Donna, Debbie, Stephen, Anthony, Tommy, and Michael, to name but a few; and her great great nieces and great great nephews.
Known affectionately as Annie by many (including AnnaMaria’s lifelong friends), she had a remarkable ability to light up any room she entered. Her dazzling smile, warm heart, and boundless capacity for love made everyone feel welcome. At any gathering, you could count on finding her on the dance floor, even if she needed her walker to get there. Being in her presence meant you were going to laugh. She loved to play along with jokes and stories, giving a knowing wink that let you in on the fun. Holiday dinners were brighter, louder, and filled with cherished memories because of her joyful spirit.
While Anna was a devoted mother, she truly thrived in her role as a grandmother. It was the part she was born to play. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren, talking with them, watching them, playing games, or simply being near them. Her unconditional love was constant, unwavering, and an example for all who knew her.
Anna “Grandma Blue” Capo will be remembered for her laughter, her kindness, her strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in her family, who will forever carry her light in their hearts.
