I am now a teacher, and Brian provided a gateway for me in my work with youth in Flatbush, the neighborhood in which I grew up. Brian's sincerity and empathy for working with underserved youth were unmatched. He was a man of integrity and lead by example. During a difficult year off from my undergraduate studies, Brian inspired and supported me in my role as an Academic Enhancement Specialist and a tutor. More than ten years later, I remember his comforting smile, delightful sense of humor and keen intellect that kept me engaged in conversation well after closing hours at the Beacon. May he rest in sweet peace and know that he will always be cherished.

I remember Brian from the 1990's in Brooklyn College.  We worked together on the USL Slate in the Student Government elections.  We joked around a lot.  I even said that he reminded me of one of the Beetles.  He was a nice person--simply stated.  I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet and work with him.

My condolences go out to Brian's family. Brian, you will be missed. You made such an impact on me as my supervisor and later as my friend. I'm so grateful to have known you and worked together to impact the young people in Brooklyn. You cared, you were unselfish and always giving. Thank you for touching my life!
