As I sit down to write this, I’m overwhelmed by your passing. It feels surreal, and my heart aches with the loss. In these last few days, I've found myself reflecting deeply on my childhood, on all the moments we shared that shaped who I am today.
You were the man who raised me as a child, the steady presence in my life. You never judged me; instead, you listened quietly, offering your wisdom in the gentlest ways. You were the first man I loved.  Even as an adult, your love remained unwavering. You accepted my choices without judgment, always providing a safe space for me to express myself. 
I will always love you for that.
Your kindness made a difference in my life and in the lives of those around you.  You were a man of your word and always helped others.  I loved that you and I could sit for days on the porch and watch the world go by and for most that was boring, but for us it was enough.    I was just so grateful to have the time with you.  I hope you know how much I love you.  Thank you for everything, Dad. Your love will continue to guide me, and your spirit will live on in the
