

Catherine was born May 17, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Mary A. Wilk (Rakiec) and Joseph M. Wilk. She resided in Brooklyn her entire life where she was a pillar in her 20th street community.
She was a graduate of Brooklyn College where she not only received her Bachelor Degrees, but also her Master Degrees. She was a teacher at the former PS 174. She excelled in all her professional roles. Her love for education endured throughout her life. She was a woman of style, grace and wit, deeply devoted to her friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, art, traveling and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her only brother, Michael J. Wilk, Bound Brook, NJ, her nieces Christine Wilk, Stephanie Bossi (Gray-Paul), and Debra Ludden (Rob), and a nephew Ralph Colon (Suzanne). Her love for her family was without limits and existed unconditionally. Her family would like to express their gratitude to Catherine's many friends who have taken time to reach out. It serves as a confirmation of the wonderful woman she was in life and her spirit and guidance will continue to carry us forward. Catherine will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Joseph G. Duffy Funeral Home, 255 9th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215. All are welcome to attend. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
