Corena "COOKIE" Watts, age 61, of Forest Hills, entered into Eternal Rest and Glory on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Woodhill Hospital. Corena was born to Charles D. Brooks and Marjorie H. Watts on December 31, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York.
Cookie attended New York City Public School and graduated from Richmond Hill High School in Queens, New York. She was part of the integrated schooling with bused students.
Cookie was a very strong, determined, independent, and candid person. She was adventurous, witty, courageous, outgoing, full of life and definitely the life of the party. Cookie was fashionable, dressed wit very upscale taste and a statement of who she was. If you knew cookie from early childhood, the girl loved to sing and dance; she would stop and perform at the drop of a dime. Her desire was to be a Hollywood Star.
I believe if Cookie would have pursued her heart's desire, she could have been one of Hollywood's nominated actresses. She was not just a singer and dancer, she was dramatic as well. "And the nominee goes to."
Corena is predeceased by her father, Charles D. Brooks and her husband, James Anderson. Survived by her son, Lenny LeMeck, daughter, Zakkiyah Stewart; sisters, Dianna L. Watts, Rena T. Watts, Charline Watts, Leslie R. Navarro, Dee-Dee D. Brooks, Doreen Brooks; brothers, Gregory A. Brooks, Eric Watts (LaKeshia Watts), Charles D. Brooks, Donald Danner and a grand host of nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.
