Corrado Scala who was also known as Dino was born to Mario and Coradina Scala on September 11th 1935 in Pozzallo, Italy and moved in 1963 with his brother Aldo to New York City, USA. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, and uncle. We as a family owe so much to him for having the courage to start a family in America. None of us would have the fortunate life we have without his fighting spirit, his intuition, his hard work, and his tireless belief in a better future for the generations that followed him. He was a Custodian at the ILA Health Clinic and a Laborer in fruit stores in Brooklyn for many years.
He was a simple man who loved music, dancing, spending time with his family. He was honest and loyal. He was a man of few words but when we spoke he spoke with intention which always made you listen closely. He loved God and was committed to his faith. He had pride in owning his two houses here in Brooklyn, NY and Pozzallo, Sicily. He was proud of his children Diana, Mario, and Michelle and deeply invested in their success as a businesswoman, a firefighter, and a teacher, respectively. He loved his grandchildren Isabella, Violetto, Alessia, and Luca. And most of all he adored his wife Gina.
We will forever miss his million dollar smile and the twinkle in his eyes.
