Dave (or “Davie”) as he is known by his family and friends, is survived by his youngest brother Martin Figman, his many loving nephews and nieces, and his very special friend, Bernice Weiss.
Dave spent his early years on the lower East Side of Manhattan, where his parents settled and raised their family after emigrating from Russia and Poland. He was the third of four boys born to Joseph and Sarah Figman — Harry, Jack, David and Martin. As a young adult, David served his country during World War II. Upon his return, he spent many years working for the United States Postal Service.
In addition to his family and friends, Dave’s other great love was music. He was an accomplished harmonic and accordion player; during his senior years he continued to utilize this talent and performed at many senior centers, engaging and entertaining all with his music, his comedy and of course, his endearing ventriloquism.
Most important, Dave was quite simply, a beautiful soul.
We will always love and miss you.
