A BCS mentor and friend, always willing to offer an ear or advice, always so lovely, and, always dressed to the nines! You made a difference in the lives of so many. God bless you. May you rest in peace.

I worked at BCS from July 1998 until June 2002.  Dolores hired me to be associate LS admission director.  Basically I was to watch and learn from her and be ready to take over from her a year later when she retired.  What a teacher!  
There was no such thing as a brief conversation with Dolores.  Whether a prospective parent, a colleague, or even (especially) a three year old, Dolores gave not just the gift of time but also the gift of genuine interest.  She would ask great questions that promoted good conversation and even better connection.  
Making the walk from the lower school over to the upper school had to always have extra time allotted - Dolores was a fixture in the community and Slopers would spot that distinctive blonde hair, neat red manicure waving and gesturing, and that sweet smile and offer a hello… which could easily  cascade into a good conversation.  She lifted high the BCS standard not solely from a business need (though don’t underestimate how good she was at that!) but because it was truly in the fiber of her being.  I learned so much from her I have built upon to where I am today.  Between Dolores and Bongsoon, I was graced with role models of administrators par excellence.
I recognize only too well I stand on the shoulders of the best possible mentors and teachers like Dolores Toolan.  I hope she rests in peace and her memory is a blessing to all.
