My dearest friend Dorothy,
 I miss you so much. Happy first anniversary in heaven. You have been such a good friend of mine in Brooklyn for 43 years. I will always treasure our friendship. 
 There is been so many times this past year that I have wanted to see you or just walk by your house to see you looking down at me from your window. The cabin in the Catskills has not been the same without you. 
 I miss everything about us, our birthday celebrations, delicious lunches, all the best times we had drinking margaritas, White Russians, and wine. All the good times we had at Reese’s beach. No one could ever catch a tan like you. You always had perfect baby skin. 
Thank you for all my souvenirs from Martha’s Vineyard and Hilton Head Island over the years. 
You have always been so good to me. 
Dorothy, you have  given me so many material things, but mostly what matters is the love that I received back from you.
 Our bond is very strong and I am sure I will see you again one day.

It has been a painful year my friend. So many times  I go to the phone to ask you a question or tell you about  a movie. There were also good  times when I realized that you left me two of your bedt friends. We cry and laugh at times. I now buy myself flowers since you always said be good to yourself

I only learned of your passing on June, 2nd, three months after you were gone.  You were, without a doubt, the very longest and best friend I've ever had.  I shall always remember our power lunches at YaYa El Viejo; you heightened my enjoyment of good Spanish cuisine.
Thank you for all the great gifts from McKenzie-Childs.  Most of all thank you for all the great conversations and laughs we shared.  I shall miss you madly ; however, you will live on FOREVER in my heart. I'll always love you.

Dorothy was the first person I met when I moved to Brooklyn 43 years ago. Dorothy was with me for so many of life’s ups and downs. So many wonderful memories that I will always cherish.  Farewell my beautiful friend. You are always in my heart.

Dorothy was an amazing woman, friend, and Colleague! Her dedication, commitment and support to help people  with disabilities have fulfilling, healthy and happy lives was seen by all who worked with her at the regional office. She helped so many during her career- her love was felt by all who knew her!

It is so hard to say goodbye to my dear friend.
 I feel like there is a huge void inmy heart. Which is now so empty that it hurts. I will try to fill it this huge hole with 43 + years of the very best friendship only one can dream of.
I was so accustomed to see Dorothy at any time I wanted. We just lived around the corner from each other. This fact alone had always provided me extreme comfort she was always available.  
 We shared lazy hot summer days having good times on tar beach on your roof & Riis Beach.
Having lunches, in restaurants, meeting at her place, my place.  Or spending wonderful long weekends at the  Cabin. 
   I feel as if I personally know all of the multitude of people that she loved and admired thru out our journeys together. 
   Most of all, I will just miss her &  love her to eternity.
