Elena Jimenez

Maria Elena Jimenez, affectionately known as Elena, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Puerto Rico on March 21, 1934, she relocated to Brooklyn, New York, during her teenage years, where she established a life characterized by resilience, pride, and unwavering love.

Elena was the cornerstone of her family, embodying strength and wisdom. Her stories and guidance served as a compass, instilling values of perseverance and unity. Through life's challenges, she remained a steadfast presence, offering support and love to those around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Ivonne Diaz; grandchildren, Melissa Gonzales, Hector Diaz Jr., and Cecily Diaz; and great-grandchildren, Hayden Jimenez, Stella Gowie, Victoria Givens, and Violet. Elena's legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the lessons she imparted.

In honoring Elena's memory, we celebrate a life well-lived and a love that will endure in our hearts.

A visitation for Elena will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223. Following the visitation will be an interment from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at The Evergreens Cemetery, 1629 Bushwick Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11207.
