My deepest sympathy and condolences.
I met Mrs. Woods the first time over 40 years ago when Emily and I came home for a visit from Denmark. I have a picture in my mind of a stunning proud women smiling and welcoming me into her home. Years passed.....  The last picture I have in my mind of Mrs. Woods is of her, walking hand in hand with Mr. Woods down the street from Sandy's house.  I thought that was so sweet, I never forgot it and that is how I will always remember them both.

It's been a while,Nanny but I still miss you.You were always there,and always treated me with love and respect.You always cared,and always in your own unique way.Outside the family didn't really matter to you and I could always see your point on that. Dear Beverly and Family we were deeply saddened by the passing of your mother Evelyn. Loosing one's parent is one of the most difficult  things in life we go through. We share your sorrow and we miss her big smile and the love she gave us whenever she saw us. We were truly blessed by having known such a wonderful and beautiful lady.

it is a long time since we met, but I think it was love at the first sight. And I think that is natural because I love your daugter as my own sister.  
I still have a letter that you wrote me along time ago. I always carry it with me  because it was so dear to me.  A few months ago I talked to you the last time and I will never forget how much we laughed on the telephone, you were singing `"born in the USA" again and again and much better than Bruce Springsteen. You were just wonderful and so funny, I loved that!!!
Now you are in another place and I wish you happines and everything good and perhaps you also meet my mother who also left Earth a while ago, I am sure you will have a lot of fun together.

I only met her in person during her short visit to Germany,but we would always send each other greetings when she was on the phone to Emily. Dear Beverly & Family.....How Blessed & Lucky you all were to have had such a wonderful role model in your life for so long! We will remember Mrs. Woods as always giving us a big smile & hug when she greeted us & always made sure we didn't miss out on any dishes that were being served at a Bar-B-Que or family gathering. I only met you once but I love you as if I knew you for ever. You gave birth to wonderful daughters and you had a wonderful long life with all the ups and downs we all experience during our lifetime. How appropriate for my Mom to pass during Black History Month. Evelyn was a woman of few worldly desires. She had a strong work ethic, always put family first, and loved Baseball. Born in Jamaica, West Indies without the silver spoon she aspired to make  the best out of life. My mom was beautiful with long hair and athletic body. She was very proud of her academic accomplishments. When of age, she came to America to work. And that she did! Her focus and dedication to caring for family will always be remembered.  Thank you Mom I Love You

I have known Mrs. Woods for over 50 years. A wonderful woman who always had words of wisdom. I always enjoyed time spent with her. And of course she always made something for us to eat to break bread as she would say. I'll miss her. Miss our phone chats miss her smile miss her! She raised three wonderful daughters. One being Emily who is my dearest friend since high school!  Rest in peace Mrs. Woods! You were a truly wonderful woman! Watch over your beautiful family as I know you will. God now has yet another beautiful angel in heaven!

Mrs Woods always made you feel she was very glad to see you. Her warmth and kindness I will always remember. My love and condolences to her wonderful family and all who were lucky enough to know her.

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy. Thinking about and praying for you all with many good memories and much love.

I always called you Mrs Woods. When the phone rang I could usually tell when the call was from you.
I truly enjoyed each single conversation we had and knowing that you are in a peaceful place eases the pain to see your name on this page.

I thank you for those memories that make me smile and of course for this very special way of yours to say "God Bless You"!

I am so glad to have known such a strong woman and to have spent many special moments with her and her family. I will remember her fondly. Sending much love always to all.
