Florence T. Williamsen loving wife to the late Deacon Bill Williamsen, devoted mother to Geraldine, Gerard, and Stephen, and beloved grandmother of Liam, Donovan, Maeve, Kayley, Colleen, Stephen, Lucy, Nicholas, Jillian, Danielle, and Gabrielle, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023. She was born to John and Gertrude Sajecki on September 9, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York. She was introduced to Bill by her brother Tommy and began her married life with him on March 31, 1951. They always planned to have a family, but until they were able, Bill and Florence fostered many children. Their plans later came to fruition with the arrival of their three children, Geraldine, Gerard, and Stephen. Florence was always a working mother and was employed for over 25 years as a secretary for the Reverend in the Church Relations Department of Methodist Hospital. During this time, she was an avid supporter of her husband’s plans to become a Deacon. As her children grew up and started families of their own, and her career changed directions, at age 69, Florence decided to take a city exam, and at 70 years old was hired by the NYPD as a Police Administrative Aide. This is the job she kept until her health forced her to retire. Florence was tough, but loving. She lived her entire life ever-faithful to her husband, family, and God. She was a model of strength for her children and grandchildren and all those who knew her. Her generosity of spirit and heart will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
