Jean Marie Lumb

Jean Marie Lumb, 91, of Brooklyn, NY passed away peacefully on April 29, 2022 at home after a long period of declining health. Jean was the daughter of the late Charles J Lumb and Helen (Thompson) Lumb.

Jean was born, raised, and attended school in Brooklyn. She was employed at The Topps Company Inc and then at Blue Cross Blue Shield of New York as an Administrator. Jean taught RCIA instruction to adults seeking to become Roman Catholics at St Mary's Star of the Sea Church in Brooklyn.

In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her siblings, sisters Catherine Martin, Geraldine (Pye) Beirne, Dorothy Hastings, brothers Charles Lumb and Paul Edward Lumb. Jean was also predeceased by her nephews Arthur Charles Lumb and James Hastings.

Survivors include nieces Claire Dundorf, Jacqueline Chlystun, Susan Mailloux, nephews Fletcher Hastings, Thomas Pye and Timothy Pye. Jean is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews and great grandnieces and great grandnephews.

A mass of christian burial for Jean Marie will be held Monday, May 9, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St Mary Star of the Sea, 467 Court St, Brooklyn, NY 11231. Following the mass of christian burial will be a committal service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at St. Charles/Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11735.
