
Marilyn Daitsman, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on August 4, 2024. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank, with whom she shared nearly 59 years of happy marriage.
Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her three sons: Mark, William (Marlene Nolan), and Alec (Tess O'Leary). Also left to cherish her memory is her brother Joseph Rogers (Lora). Marilyn was devoted to her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, a niece and several nephews who were a constant source of joy in her life.
Throughout her 94 years, Marilyn touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and warm spirit. Her long and loving partnership with Frank was an inspiration to all who knew them, demonstrating the power of enduring love and companionship.
Marilyn's commitment to public service and her community was evident throughout her career. She worked for 15 years in a youth employment program in Brooklyn, New York, dedicating herself to helping young people enter the workforce. After retiring in 1995, Marilyn's passion for community service led her to take on a new challenge. She came out of retirement to work in constituent services for Congressional Representative Jerry Nadler, where she continued to make a difference in people's lives until her ultimate retirement in 2012 at the age of 82.
A graveside service will be held to celebrate Marilyn's life and honor her memory on Tuesday, August 6 beginning at 11:30 am at New Montefiore Cemetery, West Babylon, New York.
The family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her honor. Such gestures would be gratefully appreciated and would continue Marilyn's legacy of compassion and generosity.
