

Morty was born on February 5, 1926 in Brooklyn NY. He grew up in and loved Coney Island New York. At 17 years old he got his mothers permission and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard during World War 2. He sailed on several ships during his service in the Coast Guard traveling from the United States to Europe, Africa, Brazil and back many times. After his service in the US Coast Guard he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 3 to become an electrician like his father and grandfather before him. After 40 years as an electrician and general foreman working on large construction jobs he retired and started his next phase of life traveling the country with his wife Catherine Fuchs. Morty and Catherine were very active with their social lives attending functions with their friends in the IBEW Local 3 Retirement club. Morty and Catherine frequently went to Perry’s restaurant to dine with their friends and family. Morty and Catherine enjoyed 57 years of marital bliss spending all their time together. After his wife passed Morty enjoyed spending time with his family and really loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Morty loved working on his computers sending and receiving Email with friends, making holiday cards and getting online. He was very proficient with his computers and printers and always kept up with the latest technology, his computer room rivaled the NASA launch control center. Morty was never one to sit idle he always had something to do such as building his basement, a shed in the back yard and many small projects that he and Catherine thought up. He also kept his mind active by doing crossword puzzles. Morty was an independent person and continued to live on his own till the end. Morty was extremely proud of serving in the United States Coast Guard during World War 2 or as he and Archie Bunker called it WW2 the big one, being an IBEW Local 3, his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Morty was loved and adored by all that knew him.
