

Nicola Vendola born in Rutigliano, Italy. Beloved son of Damiano and Francesca, has passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2026 at the age of 63 leaving behind his wife Sylwia , 2 sons Phillip and Massimo, his brother Leonardo with his wife Gail, and 2 sisters in Italy, Maria and her husband Giuseppe and daughter Gloria and the youngest sister Giovanna and son Matteo.
As a teenager he has dedicated himself to martial arts. He was a black belt in Judo, winning a lot of medals for his gym in Rutigliano where he trained. He has become part of national Judo team during his 2 years’ training in the military in Italy.
Nicola arrived in New York at age of 24, went to school to learn English and graduated from Baruch College with the degree in Business Administration with minor in Marketing. His work, however, was dedicated to the Hospitality Industry. He has worked in some outstanding Restaurants in Brooklyn and NYC as Server and Manager. He has completed the Sommelier certification and was awarded for creating one of the best wine list for New York Restaurant. Last 10 years he has spent with Lotte Palace Hotel in NYC as server, always having in mind to provide the best service to customers. His goal was to make people feel special, comfortable and happy.
Most of all he was a family man, always loyal and devoted to his wife, children, and family. He loved traveling and biking whenever the time had permitted.
Nicola was passionate, loving man, with warm energy that would bring smiles to people faces. He would notice people in need and reach out whenever he could. He will be missed deeply.

Visitation will be held at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223, on March 26, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Church of Sts. Simon & Jude, 185 Van Sicklen St, Brooklyn, NY 11223, on March 27, 2026, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.
A Chapel Cremation Service will be held at The Green-Wood Cemetery, 25th St, Brooklyn, NY 11232, on March 27, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
