Patrick G. Heaney, loving Husband to Joan (nee) Malley and devoted Father to Patrick, Maureen, Caroline and Peter, passed away suddenly on September 17, 2020. Born to Peter and Anna Heaney on December 1, 1969. Patrick was a life-long active parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus, while graduating from Holy Name School and Bishop Ford High School. Patrick was proud of his Irish heritage as he followed his Father’s footsteps as a member of Clann Eireann Pipe Band and the Brooklyn Irish American Parade Committee. Patrick volunteered as a coach in the Holy Name Fathers’ Guild Sports Program and was committed to their annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Patrick was a dedicated civil servant working for the New York City Housing Authority and Housing Preservation and Development, after his time with the United Brotherhood of Carpentry Union 608. Patrick’s favorite pastime was anything that involved spending time with the loves of his life - Joan, Patrick, Maureen, Caroline and Peter. Patrick shared with his children his love of carpentry and the great outdoors while fishing, hunting and swimming together. Patrick was truly a kind and gentle soul who set a fine example for all to follow. As a caring brother, uncle and friend to so many, he will be terribly missed by all. His love of God, Family and Country will live on through his wonderful children.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the education fund for Patrick's four children.

Dear Joan, Patrick, Maureen, Caroline and Peter,

Patrick was a wonderful husband, father, brother, cousin and a very special nephew to us. We will never forget the time we spent on holiday with you and your lovely family in Brooklyn and New Jersey. He always had a smile on his face. They say God takes the best young, he sure did this time.

Rest in peace Patrick, with brother Peter, mom and pops.

With loving memories, Auntie Barbara and Uncle Chris. XX

When I went to Holy Name in the 7th grade. I came from PS 154. Patrick was one of the first people I met in the school and made me feel very welcome. He had a great sense of humor. We also went to bishop ford together as well My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
