Pearline Devoue

Pearline Devoue was born on May 23, 1929 in Miami, Florida to Charles and Jesna Deveaux. As the firstborn child, she grew up in Nassau, Bahamas and began a life that would be filled with family, laughter, and memorable expressions that those who knew her will never forget. Pearline passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026.

Pearline had a vibrant personality and a sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around her. She enjoyed music, card games, and she was well known for her favorite saying: “I have champagne taste on a beer budget!” This phrase perfectly captured her spirited outlook on life and her ability to find joy and laughter even in simple moments.

Pearline was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Luther Deveaux, Arthur Deveaux, and Albertha Deveaux. Though they are gone, the love of family remains deeply rooted through the many relatives and loved ones she leaves behind.

She is lovingly remembered by her nephews Laray (& Monique) Deveaux and their children, Janiece and Rochelle; Lester Deveaux and his children: Tyshaun, Latiq, Lazon, Che, Dasia, Quan, Queleyzah, and twins Nehemiah and Zachariah; and her niece Tinika Baptiste and her children, Isaiah, Aidan, and Javen.

Her extended family includes cousins Clothilda Bowleg (deceased) and her children: Zenobia (deceased), Shaunie, Geronimo, Tyrone, Otis, Dion, and Brian; Adriana Ferguson and her children Vanessa, Nicki, Mernissa, Henry, and CJ; Victoria Bowleg and her children Lester (deceased), Elnora, Clementine, Leander, Damion, Sheena, and Al; and Helena Ferguson Pratt and her children Aerica, Terah, Leroy, Ashley, and Keila. Pearline's lineage continues through a host of third generation nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at I.J. Morris Funeral Directors, 1700 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11230, US, on March 20, 2026, from 11:15 am to 11:45 am.

A Committal Service will be held at Rosemount Memorial Park, 1109 Neck Ln, Elizabeth, NJ 07201, US, on March 20, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
