Where do I begin…there are so many wonderful stories and memories that I have of my grandmother that it would be impossible to capture all of them on this post. But, I will say that the love we shared was such a special bond, that I was proud to call her “grandma”.  

In my younger years, she would call my cousin and I to tell us that she bought a box of our favorite– Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Chocolate Almond bars – and to come up for dessert. We never ran so fast!  I love those bars, still do - but, mostly, just loved spending that time with her. The simple moments.  

But one of my most treasured memories occurred in more recent years – the day she met my son, her great grandson. It was her 91st birthday and she was over the moon happy to have us all there.  She played with my son and laughed for hours. Watching them interact with each other and seeing the happiness it gave her was the best gift she could have ever received and the greatest memory I could ever ask for.  

I just know in my heart that she is now at peace, with my grandfather, and I can hear her saying “Lisala, don’t worry about me, I’m fine”.

You will be forever loved and forever missed!

I have so many memories of my mother I wouldn't know where to begin.  She had a rough childhood because of her father, but when she met my father, her life began.  They were so happy together.  Over the past 8 years my mother had gone through many physical situations and many procedures that I never thought a woman her age could endure.  What I learned from my mother was that she had strength that I never knew she had, and I had a totally new respect for her with everything that she went through.  I don't know if I could  be as strong as she was.  She would always say she was okay so she wouldn't worry my sister and I.  
I hope she's resting in peace with my father and is happy again.  I love and miss you both and I always will.
